Imagine Receives $2100 Grant from the Junior League of Summit
Imagine, A Center for Coping with Loss, a grief support center for children and families, has received a $2,100 grant from the Junior League of Summit (JLS). The grant will help further Imagine’s mission of providing education and free peer grief support to children (aged 3-18) and their families coping with loss due to the death or life-altering illness of a parent or sibling by helping to underwrite a sixth Night of Support at its center located in Mountainside, NJ.
Emotional and Impactful Kickoff Event Held for Imagine Newark


Newark leaders greeted with love and gratitude all who attended the May 16 kickoff of Imagine Newark, A Center for Coping with Loss, Newark’s new grief support center for children and families. Located at the Achieve Charter School on Clinton Avenue, the Center provides free, year-round grief support for children, teens, and their families coping with loss due to death.
Imagine Seeks Volunteers to Provide Grief Support
Imagine currently seeks volunteers to serve as peer support group facilitators for children and families coping with loss due to death. Upcoming summer trainings will be held June 27-30th and July 26-29th, 2019.

Imagine Newark, A Center for Coping with Loss, Invites Community to Kickoff Event on May 16th
Imagine, A Center for Coping with Loss, a new grief support center for children and families, invites the Newark community to its kickoff event. Speakers representing Imagine will meet and greet community members and explain how Imagine Newark provides free, year-round grief and trauma-informed support for children, teens, and their families. Imagine also provides training, education, and on-site support in schools, workplaces, and the wider community.
Imagine Trains First Class of Volunteer Facilitators for New Center in Newark


Imagine, A Center for Coping with Loss, a grief support center for children and families, graduated its first class of volunteer facilitators for the April 2019 opening of its new center in Newark. The new volunteers took part in a 32-hour training spanning four days, during which time they learned the skills needed to support children and families coping with the loss of loved ones – whether these be parents, siblings, work- or school-mates.
Jamie Saltamachia, LSW, Joins Staff of Imagine, A Center for Coping with Loss, as Program Associate
Jamie Saltamachia, LSW, has joined the staff of Imagine, A Center for Coping with Loss, in the new role of in-school program associate. Jamie will be running groups and leading educational workshops in the field of grief support for four Newark -area schools – the Achieve Charter School, North Star Academy (Clinton Hill), Peshine, and the Great Oaks Charter School. The position is funded by a Promise Neighborhood Grant.
