Mary Robinson, Founder of Imagine, A Center for Coping with Loss, was awarded with the 2021 NJBiz Icon Award which recognizes New Jersey business leaders over the age of 60 for their contributions, success and their leadership. Mary was amongst 50 other NJ business leaders who also received the award.
Mary shared with NJBiz, “[My biggest contribution to the New Jersey Business Community is] building two successful nonprofit organizations employing over 30 individuals and training over 200 volunteers who take what they learn in our training and apply it in their own lives at work and at home. Additionally, by providing support to grieving children and teens we are having a positive impact on society by preparing them to go out into the world and live up to their unique potential.”
Mary Robinson will continue to work with Imagine as their Founder as the organization continues its national search for a new Executive Director. Mary was recognized as a CNN Hero in 2019.
“As an adult child of loss, I am passionate about creating a world where no child grieves alone and making sure the adults in a child’s life understand the important role they play in supporting grieving children. The death of a parent is traumatic for a child but it doesn’t have to leave them traumatized, if they get support.”
