- Support Imagine
Imagine Newark, a new grief support center in Newark, NJ, will open its doors in April 2019. The new center provides free year-round peer grief support programs for children and teens aged 3-18, and young adults aged 18-30, who are coping with loss due to the death of a parent, brother, sister, or other important person in their lives.
Mary Robinson, Founder and Executive Director of Imagine, A Center for Coping with Loss, is now featured on the global networks of CNN and CNN.com as a CNN Hero.
Imagine Newark, a new grief support center in Newark, NJ that provides free year-round grief support programs, is seeking volunteers. While there are a variety of volunteer opportunities available, the most pressing need is for adults willing to be trained as group facilitators.
Imagine is hosting an open house on April 11th at our center in Mountainside. Come learn more and see how you can be a part of a growing organization helping those bereaved in our communities.
We are pleased to once again offer this free workshop, “Supporting Children, Teens, and Adults Coping with Loss” on April 25th from 6:30 PM – 8:00 PM (Pizza Dinner at 6:15 PM). Suggested Donation at the Door: $20
On January 17th a room dedication was held at Imagine in honor and memory of Keith Hertell II who died in a car accident in 1997 at the age of 25. Keith’s father, Keith Hertell, made a very generous gift to Imagine to name the child loss support group room, Keith’s Room. The funding provides support for the over 320 children and parents currently attending Imagine on five different Nights of Support.
Imagine is pleased to report it received a $10,000 grant from the Schumann Fund for New Jersey to support “Imagine Newark,” a new free children’s grief support center opening in the South Ward of Newark in March.
