Virtual Community Grief Education Workshop to be Offered by Imagine

Adult supporting childFor so many of us, the last two years have brought many cumulative losses connected to the pandemic, the murder of George Floyd, and now the war in Ukraine. Our children have experienced these losses too. In so many ways, we are grieving. We may be grieving the loss of a person we love, or the loss of safety, or the loss of ‘normalcy’. We’re trying to cope with these losses and looking for ways to help each other and our children to cope with them too.

Imagine, A Center for Coping with Loss is offering two upcoming virtual webinars onSupporting Children Coping with Loss.” The first will be held on April 7th and the second workshop will be offered in Spanish on May 4th.  Both webinars will be held from 6:30 to 8:00 pm and will be presented by Imagine’s Training and Education Director, Veronica Ortiz, LPC. At the virtual workshops, you will learn definitions of loss, grief, mourning and resilience; how children, teens and adults grieve differently; how grief affects behavior; and ways to support someone who is grieving. CEUs are available for social workers and counselors. We hope you can join us for this timely program as we process our losses together.

Imagine’s Supporting Children Coping with Loss” is for anyone who wants to learn how to support a child who is grieving. While loss due to death will be the primary focus of this seminar, the concepts that will be presented are applicable to all types of loss. It is especially important for parents, caregivers, teachers, coaches, therapists, counselors, social workers and members of community organizations to attend this program.
